The Owl, The Afterglow and Weird is the New Cool
Welcome to the Tuesday Talk recap. We come together every Tuesday to offer hints to help you align your energy with practices that keep you mindful of being or becoming the best version of yourself. We cover various topics, from mediumship readings, grief, meditation, mindfulness, spiritual growth, and more. For anyone new, this is a safe space that invites you to reconnect with your higher self. A space where no judgement is made. Your thoughts and ideas are just that: yours. There is nothing you have to prove to anyone. I just ask that you relax, open your heart and mind, and allow the words that need to be heard fall upon your heart with grace. For those returning, welcome back. I’m so glad you are here and that you continue to be here.
This month, our topic of discussion has been on self-love, the heart center, finding alignment and clarity with your heart chakra, and making time to offer self-love to yourself. If you missed the live, you can see the replay on my social media, YouTube, Spotify, or on the website.
I felt drawn to pull a few cards to round out the topic of self-love, to gain insight on continuing the flow from our Guides. I was drawn to the Talisman deck and the Hero deck, but I was determined to use the Journey of Love deck. I believe my Guides were telling me to go with my first instinct, as I could not locate the Journey of Love deck.
Let’s first look at what talisman means. It is described as an object or sign that is believed to bring good fortune, health, and protection. It is often used to attract positive energies to enhance personal power or manifest a desired outcome. It could be a lucky charm, a stone or crystal, or an intention written and kept within sight. It is thought to trigger mindfulness designed to empower you. We’ve discussed several times how offering small, purposeful acts of self-love can bring courage, wisdom, and strength to your self-confidence. What better way than to ask for a sign, than to be drawn to pull a Talisman card?
To open the message from our Guides, I pulled “Learn the Truth” Positive energy grows when the truth is released. I use this deck when I want to receive powerful tools to help manifest the best intentions. The creator of the deck describes this card as validating that we are all human and we make errors. But those errors are opportunities to grow and master different life skills. Sometimes we miss the truth because we compete with ourself. We overthink everything. Our ego stops us from moving forward because, first, we have to admit the error we’ve made. Even when we know what we have to do, we avoid sitting with uncomfortable feelings. Ease your energy into knowing it is ok if it doesn’t feel familiar. Progress takes time and grace. We are accustomed to staying in our comfort zone. The truth in adjusting and learning is a message that you are going to make it. You are finding your way, the fog is lifting, you're finding clarity and your flight plan is in progression. This truth can be liberating. You begin to see opportunities that you were unable to see because your eyes were closed. The Owl appears to help navigate through this time in the dark. The wisdom of the owl comes from traveling many miles in the darkness, gaining wisdom and offering you insight.
The mantra on this card is “My flaws helped me grow, and now I see the truth.” Self-love is seeing your flaws but not being defined by them. We zero in on our flaws, and it holds us hostage. We’ve learned to be comfortable here. It is a place we retreat and hide in our confusion. Instead of retreating, offer grace and love to yourself. Assume responsibility for what is yours to assume. Put your shoulders back, correct your course, and you will find the clarity you are searching for. The wise owl is guiding you and offering you wisdom to grow. With this clarity, you will discover your path or the next opportunity. When it gets too overpowering, meditate. Close your eyes, see the situation no matter how dark it may feel. Sit with it for a few seconds, then envision you are in a forest. Notice high up in the trees a large, beautiful owl. This owl is here to show you a way out. This is a safe space to seek the peace and clarity you desire. Wisdom is gained when you allow the owl to be your guide.
In addition to the Talisman deck, I pulled two cards from the Hero Deck. Let’s face it, we are our worst enemy, or we can choose to be our own hero. All the things we’ve spoken about over this month have had two common denominators: connection to self and self-love.
As I turned to the Hero deck, I felt I should pull two cards. They were: “After Glow. Land Gracefully” and “Weird is the New Cool. Boldly express your uniqueness.” Let’s start with “After Glow. Land Gracefully.” This card is very much in sync with the owl, the wings, the flight, the destination, and the wisdom gained along the way. Always seeking a safe landing after flight. The message of this cards speaks about remembering the moments of high resolve. Urging you to never forget what you are committed to in your life. Remembering the victories and the steps you took to arrived right here in this moment. Making a pledge to yourself to not just think about the struggles but that you connect with home even after a soul altering experience. You’ve become conscious and mindful of the care you need. You’ve changed, even if the people around you are the same. You find yourself seeking more. Your experience of returning from a powerful journey has made you stronger. It has helped you find clarity of what you wish to hold on to or let go. This is the time to go out of your way to be kind to yourself as you integrate slowly back to a life that is offering you opportunities. Realize and trust that you are worthy and ready for change. With the many miles you have traveled, you have become a symbol of both heaven and earth. You will soar high with the wind of clarity and peace beneath your wings. You have been traveling with the owl in search of answers. You have been obtaining the ability to see through the fog, your path is in your sight.
The 3rd and final card for today is “Weird is the New Cool. Boldly Express Your Uniqueness.” I so love this. When I think about embracing self-love, this statement is spot on. Be comfortable being you. The “ordinary world” is filled with people who may not always have your best interest at heart. They may stand in judgement of things they know nothing about. No one knows your story or your reasons, but you. Stand tall in the decisions you make. Be bold in your weirdness. Those who are courageous enough to embrace their “weirdness” bring forward noteworthy contributions and change the world. They go against the grain because they feel a shift in themselves.
The mantra for this card is: “I validate my uniqueness as a gold soul. As I share, the treasure multiplies.”
When you allow yourself to be genuine and unique, things change. Your energy begins to grow. Your passion, your path become clearer as you continue to follow your heart. Your love for yourself and others will beam from the inside out. You will see the treasure you hold within your heart and soul. A treasure that you will want to share with the world around you.
The owl offers a sign. An intention. Guidance and wisdom. The afterglow is safely landing home, changed. Comfortable being the you that may have been hiding. You are no longer afraid to speak your truth. You have the confidence to boldly proclaim who you are. You begin like who you are becoming. This is your flight, your path, and your journey rediscovering your inner sanctuary and realigning with your true self.
All of this is triggered when you become mindful of how you treat yourself. Life is filled with the unknown (darkness). Becoming mindful of what your body needs; pausing for rest and clarity. In the moments in between, solutions appear. (soft landing) Doing what is best for you not only benefits you but it also those around you.
Your path is as unique as you are because it is your path. It is unlike anyone else’s. Nurturing your inner vitality and honoring your personal power with compassion cultivates self-appreciation for your unique spirit. Wisdom encompasses all of your journeys and experiences. Every memory. Every experience. Your solutions and victories. Your shortcomings and adjustments made. The darkness and the light. This is all part of your flight, smooth or bumpy, you have found your ways to land softly. The hero of your story… whether you have fallen from grace, heartbreak, grief, confusion, rebuilding, transforming, growing, searching for clarity of your path…is you. Your path is leading to live a life you love and the love life you live.
Blessing for your flight, sight and soft landings,
Stacey
