Last week we spoke about Spiritual Leadership and how your scars are part of your story. Today we are going to speak about spiritual confidence. Now that we’ve discovered that having broken pieces in your life does not disqualify you as a leader, let’s expand upon finding confidence in your spiritual path. Within our lives, we have ups and downs. We learn and gain insight every day. Spiritual confidence is when we come to an aligned inner trust in our own connection to the divine, intuition, and your spiritual path, even when you don’t have all the answers.
Spiritual confidence feels like walking on sunshine — it is learning to trust yourself, even when you can’t see the whole path. Spiritual confidence becomes a calm, grounded knowing that your inner wisdom, your spiritual experiences, and your connection to something greater is real, trustworthy, and guiding you in the right direction.
Let’s break it down point by point. What it feels like:
Inner Trust: You’ve gained a belief in your intuition and spiritual nudges without constantly second‑guessing yourself.
Alignment: You feel in sync and connected with your values, your purpose, and the energy around you.
Calm Assurance: Even during uncertainty, you sense and know you’re being guided and supported.
Authenticity: You freely express your beliefs without fear of judgment or needing validation from others.
Resilience: Challenges don’t shake your faith; they deepen it.
Clarity: You are able to discern what feels spiritually true for you versus what doesn’t.
It’s not arrogance, superiority, or believing you have all the answers all of the time. It’s quiet, steady, and deeply personal. It is more of a soft whisper in your heart instead of a loud proclamation.
Spiritual confidence grows when you’ve spent time listening inward, exploring your beliefs, and noticing how your experiences shape your life. It’s the point where your spirituality stops being something you “try to understand” and becomes something you live from.
We are all building confidence in one way or another. Building it spiritually means you begin to notice symbolic guidance. There is an art of letting the universe speak to you through signs, patterns, and metaphors. You begin learning how to interpret them with clarity instead of confusion. It may not always be easy to interpret because of learned traits, but with time you learn to not give into the negative thoughts of yourself.
You don’t just say, “Things happen for a reason.” You are in tune with and notice symbolic guidance. You begin to pause and listen to that inner whisper (intuitive interpretation) of signs, synchronicities, and symbols that appear in your life, offering direction, affirmation, or insight.
You recognize that it’s not about superstition. Because the patterns are recognition. They resonate within you and communicate to you spiritually.
There are main channels through which symbolic messages appear in repetitive ways. How many times is it a coincidence until it is not? When you start to trust and observe them. Think about how they may have shown up to you:
Synchronicities: Repeated numbers, phrases, or events that align too perfectly to be random.
Animal Messengers: Animals appearing in dreams, real life, or imagery with symbolic meaning.
Dream Symbols: Objects, places, or beings that carry messages.
Nature Signs: Weather shifts, feathers, stones, or natural patterns that feel meaningful.
Emotional Signals: Sudden feelings or intuitive hits that act as symbolic cues.
Classic Imagery: Symbols like keys, doors, bridges, or light that represent deeper truths.
These symbolic messages don’t come with instructions, and they are different for everyone. You decode them through intuition by: noticing the pattern; become aware of how it feels when it shows up, is it repeatedly or with emotional intensity? Symbolic guidance rarely appears only once.
Check how it resonates with you. What does this symbol make me feel? Your emotional reaction is the key to interpretation.
Symbols speak in metaphor. For example: A key may symbolize opportunity, access, or unlocking potential. A bridge may symbolize transition or moving from one phase to another. A white feather may symbolize protection or reassurance.
Your subconscious notices patterns long before your conscious mind does. Symbolic guidance is your intuition using imagery to communicate what words cannot. It’s a conversation between your inner world and the outer world.
To practice understanding symbols, set an intention in the morning. Ask the universe for a symbol that supports your day. Be aware throughout the day. Be open to patterns, animals, numbers, or imagery. Then, in the evening, reflect on the day. Write down any symbols and what they might mean. Don’t overthink it, feel into it. Over time, you’ll see themes emerge. Guidance becomes clearer and more consistent.
Finding your animal symbols means identifying the creatures that consistently show up in your life, dreams, emotions, or intuition. The ones acting as messengers for your spiritual path. I’ll guide you through a clear, structured process to discover yours, and we’ll look at the animals that may already be trying to get your attention. If you are connected to animals, set the intention to have them come to you.
Notice recurring animals. Your symbolic animals often appear repeatedly. It may be in real life, dreams, conversations, art, or even random media. If an animal keeps showing up, it’s not random. It’s like the doorbell ringing. Go back and reflect, track your emotional reactions. Your strongest animal symbols evoke a feeling, fascination, comfort, fear, curiosity, or recognition. Emotion is the intuitive signal. Animals you loved as a child often reflect your core nature. Your earliest instincts are your purest ones. Be sure to observe animals in dreams. They are powerful messengers. They bypass logic and speak directly to your subconscious. Sometimes an animal appears at a meaningful moment like: during stress, transition, or decision-making. That timing is guidance.
Here are some of the most frequent symbolic animals people encounter:
Wolf: intuition, independence, loyalty
Owl: wisdom, perception, hidden truth
Deer: gentleness, sensitivity, emotional intelligence
Butterfly: transformation, rebirth, joy
Hawk: clarity, focus, spiritual messages
Bear: strength, grounding, introspection and nurturing
Fox: adaptability, cleverness, strategy
Turtle: patience, wisdom, steady progress
I’ve always been drawn to the phoenix. I even feel at home in Phoenix AZ. It comes up often for me. It is one of the most powerful animal symbols that I have an emotional reaction to. When I look at the phoenix, it isn’t just an animal. It’s an archetype of rebirth, transformation, destruction, creation, and spiritual evolution. When the phoenix shows up, it usually means their life is entering a phase where the old self is burning away so the new self can rise. The bat is also one that, through fear, I have come to recognize the spiritual meaning. It is the shamanic death of something for the rebirth of something else.
The phoenix and the bat have similar symbol meanings. Transformation: You’re shedding an old identity, belief, or emotional pattern. Rebirth: Something new is emerging in your life. A new path, mindset, or version of yourself. Inner Fire: You carry intense spiritual energy, passion, and resilience. Cycle Completion: A chapter is ending, so a more aligned one can begin. Spiritual Ascension: You’re leveling up spiritually, often after hardship or emotional intensity.
I tell you all of this because when I was walking into my spiritual path, I did not have spiritual confidence. I had imposter syndrome. Why me? Am I crazy? What the heck is going on? Those were the questions circling in my in my head. I did not think I was worthy. I was broken and confused. Those things kept me suffocated in depression and anxiety. How could I trust my path when I could not trust anything surrounding me? But then I realized something. Maybe the problem wasn’t that I didn’t trust my spiritual path. Maybe I hadn’t learned to trust myself. I was looking outside of myself for permission, for validation, for someone to tell me that what I was experiencing was real.
But spiritual confidence began when I stopped looking for someone else to give me permission to be who I was becoming. I started listening, paying attention. I started trusting the nudges, the whispers, the signs and the synchronicities, and eventually, I started trusting myself.
I learned that being confident on your spiritual walk doesn’t mean I would never doubt myself. It meant I don’t let doubt make the decisions for me.
You can be afraid and still take a step. You can be uncertain but still be open to listen. You can question the path and still keep walking. Because confidence isn’t always a loud voice saying, “I know exactly where I’m going.” Sometimes it’s that quiet voice that says, “I don’t know where this is leading me, but I trust myself enough to take the next step.” I believe that is where spiritual confidence begins. Not just in knowing, but in trusting.
I’m asking you to trust yourself to take the first step, to be open to listening to those inner whispers. The outcome? You will be on the path to live the life you love and love the life you live.
I will talk to you next week
Have a magical day,
Stacey
