Mindfulness Journey

It’s been a few weeks, but I’m back. I thought since I’ve gotten a bit behind this would be a great week to speak about mindfulness. The purpose of Tuesdays Talks is to speak about all things spiritual. As the Tuesdays go by in 2025, I reflect on the time we have spent together. We’ve touched upon epiphanies, spiritual wisdom, vibration and music, spiritual warfare, the universal possibilities, grief, and so much more. When I look back on the blogs, it is also a reminder of events in my life. I look at people I’ve met, books I’ve read, places I’ve visited. I remember friends and family who have passed from this world onto the spiritual realm. I’m thankful for those who have enlightened me with their wisdom and hope I was able to pass their wisdom on to others. As I consider decisions I have made, whether it be good or bad, I look for the lessons I have learned and how I can better serve the world in healing. I ponder the question, “What is one thing I can change in my life to help others?” I have realized through 2025 that I wandered away from my dedication to mindfulness. I speak about it often, but my practice of it needs some work. As I look at my vision for 2026 my desire is to incorporate a mindfulness journey. Let’s look deeper at this for a second.

What is a mindfulness journey? It is the practice of being present. In the here and now without judgement. Bringing awareness to who you are in this very moment. Committing to increasing our self-awareness. Using meditation breathing techniques to reduce stress and find clarity. It is to connect with your thoughts and emotions, but it’s a little bit more. It is having a relationship with the thoughts and emotions, bringing a deeper appreciation and perception to improve peace and balance into your life.

This embodies shifting the mind and actions from “doing” to “being”. Noticing the people and the things that surround you. Becoming aware of when the mind wanders or checks out. Gently accepting the change, slowing down, connecting with the breath and guiding yourself back into the being mode. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Focus on the moment by bringing all of your attention to your breath, notice how your body feels, listen for sounds that you have missed and seeing things as they happen.

Observing your thoughts and feelings without giving them the label of good or bad. Labeling them creates excuses of why we cannot create peace in our mind. All I’m asking is for you to give yourself permission to sit in these emotions for a moment.

Being conscious of how your body feels. Turning to the physical body and observing where the tension is located. Creating a path of breathing into the area of tension in order to release it. This gives you the knowledge to be better informed of your body’s signals and what triggers the tension.

Accepting your emotions and thoughts instead of fighting them. Knowing that difficult thoughts will come up, but you do not have to engage with them. You only have to be aware that they exist.

When you go off course, consistently bring your focus back with kindness. “Where the mind goes, energy flows.” Don’t give power to the difficult thoughts by staying with them and drowning in them.

These are all daily habits to help you achieve peace in your life. Isn’t that the ultimate goal? To find peace, to be peaceful and share your peace?

To start, incorporate the practice of meditation. Just sitting quietly. Begin with 3–5 minutes. Mediation is not difficult, dedicating the time to meditate is difficult. This is the “doing” mode, navigate to the “being mode”. I think we can all find 3–5 minutes a day in order to manifest peace in our lives. Here is what I am asking that we do together:

Find a quiet place and time every day. If you forget, don’t quit, just start at the moment you realize you had missed your date with peacefulness.

Be comfortable either sitting or lying down. Make sure your back is straight but relaxed and your legs and feet uncrossed. Take a slow, deep breath and close your eyes. As you are breathing, scan your body and feel if there is a part of your body that feels tense. Upon your next breath, focus on sending your breath to that area in order to release the tension. Most find their shoulders or back are the areas where tension resides. You can consciously say “release” as you breathe. Visualizing your air going to this area and breathing through it. As you continue, focus on your breathing. Be mindful of the sensation of how the air feels as you inhale (cool air, gentle, slow) and how it changes upon exhalation to a warm release. Take notice of the rise and fall of our chest and abdomen. As you continue, try to clear your mind. No words, just breath. Acknowledge if you drift off, gently say “later thinking” and bring your focus back to your breathing. Practice this every day for 3–5 minutes. When you feel overwhelmed, stop, take a deep breath in, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Note how your body starts to respond to the care you are showing to your thoughts and emotions.

After a few times practicing quieting the mind, try expanding your awareness. What sensations are you feeling? What is your body telepathically telling you? Are you seeing anything visually in your 3rd eye? There are times that I feel my energy say to me, “thank you for paying attention to me, I needed to slow down”.

After each time, be sure to journal your experience, even if it is one word. Make note of how you felt before and then after. Note any clarity you may have received. The benefits of tuning into your body: It helps reduce fear, stress and anxiety. It helps increase self-awareness and connection to your higher self. It allows time and gives you a safe space to find clarity. It helps you relax your emotions in difficult situations. It helps cultivate a better perspective to help find clarity, balance and inner peace.

Living in the moment, means you are observing your sensations and thoughts that enhance self-awareness. All of a sudden, you’ll notice things you had not before because you were in the “doing” mode. This is all a part of mindfulness.

How does my urging you to incorporate mediation helps you to reconnect to your sensations? Why would this be important? Mindfulness is intentionally focusing on the present moment, observing thoughts, feelings, sensations and your surrounding area without judgement or a reaction. Instead of feeling guilty for just sitting when there are things to do. You are floating in the moment, observing. This practice helps you to engage more with life, instead of getting lost in the past or worries of the future. It helps manage stress. You are connected to the very moment you are experiencing.

Mindfulness and meditation are not about being in a trance-like state with no thoughts. It is being aware of the thoughts and emotions as they come. It may not aways be positive emotions, but they need noticed. It’s about acknowledging and accepting all experiences. It is good to be aware of what rents space in your mind. What’s occupying your headspace. Observing it instead of fully engaging in it. “Where the mind goes, energy flows.” This is not a replacement for professional help if needed.

I want to also add that as we are getting closer to the end of 2025 and we look to 2026, in numerology. We are going into a 1 year. (2+0+2+6=10 breaking that down to a single number 1+0=1) This signifies the end of a cycle, completion, new beginnings and leadership. What new beginnings will we lead? The number 1 is also infinite potential, independence and spiritual evolution. That is an interesting description to visualize. If you knew you could not fail, what would you create? You are an independent, evolving spirit with infinite potential. What does that look and feel like? With new ventures and personal power, it may bring in impatience. But if you are practicing mindfulness, you will know how to slow down and get back on track because you know you need balance and peace. We think of 1 as being the pioneer, the self-starter with ambition, originality, willpower and value freedom. Something that maybe you feel you have lost along the way. Mindfulness gives you your freedom back. It anchors you to this moment in time to fully experience all things as they happen, rather than being weighed down by the past or anxious about the future.

It is saying to yourself,” What and how do I feel right now at this very moment?” This is called the “I am” concept, not the “I was or I will be” way of thinking. The spiritual meaning of 1 is divine unity, beginnings, oneness. The source of all things. Oneness and mindfulness are interchangeable, which means it is the source of all things.

As this year comes to a close, I will continue to reflect on what I have accomplished, lessons I’ve learned and the things that are within my power to change. And as I think deeply about the changes I’ve made, I will acknowledge the mistakes I’ve made without allowing them to consume me. I am striving to be mindful, balanced and will continue to nurture my inner peace. And the static noise around me, I will quiet by going to my safe inner space and give myself permission to be in the moment of quiet.

I want to end this blog by validating what was given to me to speak about. I received a new deck of cards the other day, “Soul Coaching” by Denise Linn. Last night, after writing Tuesday Talks I saw the deck sitting on my dresser and decided to pull 3 cards. I asked for 3 takeaways from this message, a card for the past, one for the present and one for the future as it would pertain to our mindfulness journey.

The Past card is Courage. The Present is Communication. The Future card is Delight. In looking at these cards before reading the book’s description, it felt as though my guides where saying, the things of the past took a lot of courage, but you made it through. As you speak about your endeavors, struggles and victories, you are healing through your words. This healing brings joyful delight to your energy and the energy of others. As you may or may not know, my passion, my path, my calling, is to help heal the world one person at a time. Talking with you and being that listening ear has helped me heal and in turn, I hope it has helped you know you are not alone. You have the courage to communicate your delight in the healing you are receiving.

Per the book, here are the meanings behind the cards:

Courage: “Throw your shoulders back, step forward, and take a risk? Be willing to listen to the beat of your own drum. Honor your truth. Speak up for yourself. Be impeccable in all your actions.

Your soul wants you to know: You have the radiant spirit of a warrior of the light. This isn’t the time to be timid and pull back. Don’t allow yourself to be limited by your belief system, this is the time to take action with passion and delight. Courage doesn’t mean that you aren’t afraid; fearless means just that: fear less. Acknowledge that you’re frightened and take action anyway!
Face your anxiety and go beyond the boundaries of limited perceptions of yourself. You’re a light bearer for others: Through your example, people find and act on their truth.

Affirmation: I live passionately and courageously!”

Communication: “Communicate from your heart and speak your truth without hesitation. Be willing to stand before the crowd and share from your center. This isn’t the time to be shy and hesitant, but to heal through communication. You’re a natural teacher.

Your soul wants you to know: Discretion is the better part of valor; however, sometimes it may be fear rather than discretion that keeps you from reaching out. Communication restores trust and allows you to clarify your ideas, position, and feelings. It can be healing when you share what has been withheld. Now it the time to take a risk and have the courage to speak with forthright clarity. Share any unspoken darkness that lays heavy in the heart. Even if you’re afraid, declare your truth for all to hear without fear of being rejected or misunderstood. When you do this, transformation and healing can occur.

Affirmation: I communicate from my heart, and love surrounds and protects me.”

Delight: “Clap your hands with joy and let your inner child play. Be silly or play hooky and take a day off. This isn’t the time to buckle down and get to work; this is when you should be madcap and spontaneous. Have fun.

Your soul wants you to know: Your spirit guardians are delighted when you’re filled with childlike wonder, joy and exuberance! When just one person experienced true delight, this joyous energy radiates outward like ripples in a pool, reaching even the farthest shores of humanity. Your pleasure can rejuvenate you and can have a powerful healing effect on others.

Affirmation: I delight in everything in my world and divine joy fills me!

This courage is all a part of mindfulness. We acknowledge the courage, the victories and the lessons in the quiet stillness we create. This courage we have gained enables us to heal by sharing our past. We share our lessons and wisdom with others so they may know that they are not alone. Their souls will find healing and delight just because you took the time to listen and share.

Our past gives us the courage to communicate with others as well as myself, to be mindful, find the peace my soul needs. I release fear. I am becoming playful and joyful.

To bring this blog to an end, I’d like to encourage you to join me on a journey of mindfulness. Oh, the places we will go once we allow the chatter in our minds to quiet down and soak in every moment as it happens.

I pray you live the life you love and love the life you live.

Peace and blessing to you,

Stacey
